Scheduled to take place from 31 May to 2 June 2022 at the International Conference Centre (CIC) in Algiers, the Digital African Summit is set to welcome around 1,200 decision-makers and 200 companies from over 40 countries in Africa and around the world. This event organised by the Algerian Group of Digital Actors (GAAN), and purely from the ICT sector, will reinvent new technological ambitions for Algeria and for the African continent in general.
After nine successful editions in a row, the Algeria 2.0 digital and ICT fair is set for a new edition with some unparalleled surprises. This year it will be held as the Digital African Summit. It will bring together not only national but also international technology and digital players. Indeed, this gigantic digital event of the continent, foresees about 60 conferences, workshops, speeches of star-speakers and pitch competitions of startups. “We are at a turning point in our history and in order to open up to the world and to Africa, we announce that the name Algeria 2.0 becomes Digital African Summit (from 31 May to 2 June at the CIC, Algiers) and that this will allow us to invest in the continent and to offer important opportunities for partnerships and business with the countries of the African continent”, the organisers underline in a message to their partners.
Thus, an intense immersion in the African digital universe will be enriched by B2B meetings, afterworks and networking sessions as well as cultural and tourist exhibitions. The country has done this through a range of measures: the creation of investment funds, tax exemptions, a reduction in administrative procedures and incentives for digital development. As a result, he is developing a great vision to contribute to the emergence of digital in Africa. Specifically, the 10th edition of Algeria 2.0 (Digital African Summit) will connect not just the Algerian ecosystem, but all those in Africa.
For BACHIR Tadjeddine, president of the Algerian Group of Digital Actors (GAAN): “The Digital technology is an extraordinary development opportunity for Africa, which is seeing the emergence of new perspectives, but also new challenges. The Digital African Summit will be an ideal opportunity to bring together stakeholders from African countries to consider building future projects on the continent and elsewhere in the world ”. Thus, this technology event will undoubtedly bring entrepreneurial and technological ideas from the continent to a close. Hope for an African technology boom could be rekindled after this giant digital summit.
