Egypt announced this Friday, August 9, 2022, to be in consultations with Greece and Saudi Arabia. The objective is to present a joint candidacy for the organization of the 2030 World Cup, reports the newspaper The Team.
The joint candidacies for the organization of the 2030 World Cup have been multiplying in recent days. In addition to the joint candidacies being considered by Spain and Portugal on the one hand, and Uruguay, Argentina, Chile and Paraguay on the other, Egypt, Greece and Saudi Arabia are also considering a joint candidacy to host the 2030 World Cup.
“The three countries are working hard. The file of the organization (of the 2030 World Cup) is under study. Egypt will be one of the best countries to organize this sporting event which will celebrate its centenary in 2030,” said the Egyptian spokesman of the Ministry of Sports and Youth.
It should be noted that for the time being, no bid has yet been officially submitted to FIFA, which must designate the host country or countries in 2024.
