From Tuesday 18 October to Wednesday 19 October, the Executive Vice President in charge of the Green Deal for Europe, Frans Timmermans, will visit Morocco. This visit is part of the signing of the Green Partnership on Energy, Climate and the Environment between the European Union and the Kingdom, the first of its kind. The information was given on Monday 17 October by the European Executive.<\/strong><\/p> \n \n

Rabat and Brussels announced their intention to establish this partnership in June 2021, in order to strengthen their cooperation in the fight against climate change and to work jointly to advance their energy transition, to protect the environment and to stimulate the green economy.<\/p> \n \n

After the Green Alliance with Japan, announced at the EU-Japan Summit in May 2021, the Green Partnership with Morocco represents the first partnership signed under the EU Green Deal, which paves the way for enhanced cooperation and strategic dialogue in the fight against climate change and facilitates joint efforts towards the green transition.<\/p> \n \n

The green transition, the best solution to fight climate change<\/strong><\/h2> \n \n

Climate change and environmental degradation are an existential threat to the European Union and the rest of the world. <\/strong>To meet these challenges, the Union has adopted a new growth strategy, the Green Pact for Europe, which will transform the EU into a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy. <\/strong>The Green Deal for Europe aims to make Europe climate neutral by 2050, boost the economy through green technologies, create sustainable industry and transport and reduce pollution. It is about turning climate and environmental challenges into opportunities to make the transition fair and inclusive for all.<\/p> \n \n

The European Commission helps EU Member States to design and implement reforms that support the green transition and contribute to achieving the objectives of the Green Deal for Europe. It also helps to develop the necessary procedures in central and local administrations and to establish the necessary coordination structures for the implementation of green policies.<\/p> \n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
