With just a few weeks to go before the start of the competition, Sadio Man\u00e9 has spoken out about Senegal’s chances at the World Cup. For the two-time African Golden Ball winner, his country is not among the favourites.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

“<\/em>I don’t see Senegal as favourites because there are other nations far ahead like France, Spain… We will go there with composure and try to do what we are used to do,“<\/em> said the Bayern Munich striker on Rmc.<\/p>\n\n

At the 2022 World Cup, Senegal is placed in group A with Qatar, the host country, Ecuador and Holland.<\/p>\n\n

Sadio Man\u00e9, 2nd in the Golden Ball 2022 ranking<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

After George Weah, who won the Golden Ball in 1995, Sadio Man\u00e9 is the second African player in history to finish on the Golden Ball podium<\/a>. The Senegalese international is rewarded for his masterful season with Liverpool (League Cup and FA Cup winner, Champions League finalist, Premier League runner-up) as well as with the Lions of Teranga, with whom he won Senegal’s first African Cup of Nations. At the same time, he finished as the best player of the competition.<\/p>\n\n
