Job Description<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n ACAPS is dedicated to helping humanitarians make better decisions. We want to put evidence at the heart of decision-making. We strive to be an evolving platform providing:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Independent analysis to support evidence-based decision making for humanitarian operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Innovative approaches to collect more reliable and timely data and conduct rigorous analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Capacity development of humanitarian actors to carry out better needs assessments and analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Purpose of the position <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The post holder will contribute to enhance ACAPS work by developing a geospatial analysis workflow, designing fit-for-purpose maps that will help understand and better communicate our analysis, and by developing the organisations capacity on map production. This will ultimately contribute to that ACAPS is perceived as a leading voice on humanitarian needs analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Roles and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Standardise the in-house workflow on production of maps<\/p>\n\n\n\n Develop maps on request from different teams<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ensure that ACAPS maps convey the message in the most appropriate way and in line with the analysis produced<\/p>\n\n\n\n Build internal mapping capacity<\/p>\n\n\n\n Strengthen relationship with key partners<\/p>\n\n\n\n Specific responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Lead on in-house map production<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Build and maintain a GIS resource library, as well as up-to-date documentation for reference purposes<\/p>\n\n\n\n Be responsible for the harmonisation of templates, data sources, colour schemes, and all the necessary tools to produce on-brand maps<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ensure effective map production<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Design a new standardised process for GIS data management and mapping<\/p>\n\n\n\n Engage with ACAPS analysts and ensure existing workflows are understood and taken into account when designing new processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
