Athlete’s foot is an infection of microscopic fungi. It usually affects the skin of the feet. But it can also spread to the hand and toenails. Although it is contagious, you can avoid it. In order to do this, we suggest a few methods to remedy the situation.

    Baking soda

In the treatment of athlete’s foot, baking soda is of paramount importance. Simply dissolve 4 tablespoons of baking soda in one litre of lukewarm water. Soak the infected foot(s) in this solution and leave for 15 to 20 minutes. Then dry the feet well to avoid moisture. This foot bath will allow you to eliminate fungus.

    Green clay poultice

Once the toes are infected, it is necessary to think about their repair. This is where green clay in poultice comes in. Make a paste from the clay powder or if you have the possibility, use a ready-made green clay paste. Apply the paste to the infected area(s) and protect it with a plaster. Use this tip in the evening at bedtime and leave the poultice on overnight. When you wake up, rinse with clean water and leave to dry. Practise this method every night for a month for a favourable result.

If you have the infection in one area of your body, avoid spreading it to other areas or to other people. Reduce the risk of contagion by not using your shoes, towels or napkins with others. Do not touch the lesions regularly and if you do touch them, wash your hands immediately. Also, avoid walking barefoot in public places. Following these rules will help you reduce the risk of contamination around you.
