In an interview with Nigerian actress and skits maker Kiekie, Davido confirmed that he and Chioma Avril Rowland are officially married.
Since his return to the music scene, Davido has been making announcements and delivering good news. From the presentation of Timeless track-list to the announcement of his next tour and his collaboration with Puma, the artist does not give any break to his fans. And the latter are not complaining at all. On the contrary, they are rejoicing and still asking for more.
Interviewed by Kiekie on the eve of the release of his new album Timeless, the artist confirmed the rumours about his marital status.
Indeed, while they were mourning the death of their son Ifeanyi last October, rumors had been circulating about an alleged secret marriage between Davido and his long-time girlfriend, Chioma. According to them, the two lovebirds got married long before the burial of their only son. Neither the artist nor his girlfriend confirmed the rumors, which eventually died down like a fire without air.
And this fire, Davido rekindled it on Thursday during his interview.
He first shared his daily life during his musical break.
“I’ve never ever taken this kind of break. So, it was just being away.
I’ve had a lot to think about. Time to rest, to reflect on a lot, family time…
And definitely time to make music again. I remade the album. Before I went on a break, I had that album ready. I had it all ready. But we redid the album. I travelled. It was crazy.”
Then, right afterwards, he confessed in an unruffled tone: “I’m married”, proudly showing his wedding ring.
The video of the interview went viral on social networks. The happy news thrilled her fans. The latter are very happy that their idol Davido is finally officially married to the one they now call “Oga Wife” i.e. the boss’ wife.
And they keep wondering when Chef Chi, as she is nicknamed, will make her big comeback on social networks. Some indiscreet people even spread the rumor that she is pregnant.
Anyway, it is now clear that Davido is no longer a heart to take. He just gave his “baby” Chioma a “lifetime insurance”.
