Chidinma’s sudden change of music style is, perhaps still, a real shock to some of her fans. Speaking in a video on her YouTube channel, Chidinma Ekinle explained why she switched from secular music to gospel music.

Made famous by her hit song Kedike, Nigerian singer Chidinma has established and extended her musical supremacy to the African continent and even beyond. She has had a string of solo successes as well as featuring some of the biggest urban music singers in Nigeria and beyond.

Miss Kedike, as she is known to her fans, has been entertaining the world for a long time with her songs that are highly appreciated for their musicality.
Fallen in love, Ololufe, Ton pied mon pied, etc, are songs that have rocked and made a whole generation dance.

However, the one who revealed that she was born blind suddenly decided to change direction. In 2021, Chidinma decided to put her talent in her creator’s service by becoming a gospel singer. She vowed never to return to secular music again. A real shock for her fans…

Why having given up on secular music to exclusively took up gospel music?

Chidinma answered that question. Briefly, the singer said that she felt empty. Despite the success and wealth, Chidinma Ekile apparently lacked peace and tranquility. She added that she only felt truly fulfilled after she became a gospel singer.

“I was looking for my fulfilment. But I didn’t find it until I reconnected with my source,” she added.
