    The 5th edition of the Benin Investment Forum takes place at Golden Tulip in Cotonou

    The 5th edition of the Benin Investment Forum opened on Thursday 23 June 2022 in Cotonou. Under the theme, “Benin, the new frontier of emerging markets”, this edition aims to provide a unique platform for international investors wishing to engage in high social impact business in Benin and to identify ways to improve the participation of the private sector in Benin’s successful economic growth.

    Like every year, Benin Investment Forum brings together several hundred participants since yesterday at the Golden Tulip in Cotonou. They include CEOs and shareholders of African companies, international investors, leaders of multinationals, ministers, representatives of the main financial institutions active on the continent, but also experts in strategy and economists. At this major event, which will take place on 23 and 24 June 2022, the actions underway in various sectors in Benin were presented. The aim is to “bring together and mobilise the key players in the investment sector in Benin” with a view to mobilising funds for the financing of large-scale projects and to increase and diversify Foreign Direct Investment (FDI).

    An opportunity for Jean Michel Abimbola, Beninese Minister of Tourism, Culture and Arts, to encourage foreign investors to come and invest in the sectors of his ministerial department. “As you can see, there is room for any investor. I would like to urge you enthusiastically to come and invest in tourism, culture and the arts, which are now Benin’s minerals,” he said, referring to the tourist resort of Avlékété, which alone offers opportunities for investment in several areas.

    Thus, several presentations are the subject of this conferences. These are key sectors such as agriculture, economy, infrastructure, mining, energy, hydrocarbons, education, health… to international and national investors present. All this to encourage potential project funders in Benin.
