The Ivorian artist Betika was on the set of the program People Emik on “la 3”, this April 13. Openly, she confided that she had been the target of spiritual attacks, threats and bewitchment.
Betika is an Ivorian singer known for her hit song “Fakaloh“.
In May 2022, the artist who became very rare on social networks had revealed on a TV set to have been a victim of a cardiovascular accident. This April 13, 11 months later, the singer made a poignant testimony on TV. Betika revealed that she lived in constant fear due to spiritual problems: “I was bewitched. I was getting fat. I was afraid. Even to get on planes. I would grab the passengers. Even when I get into cabs.”
She reportedly knew about the bewitchment thanks to revelations during several sessions of prayer. The singer was very hesitant to publicly share the source of the spiritual attacks. Finally, she confessed that she was a victim of a rather peculiar type of cyber-bullying. A person unknown to the artist allegedly made a montage of her with human skeletons to threaten her on Facebook. Similar threats continued in the comments.
« One day, I posted my photo. Someone wrote: ‘We failed but next time we’ll get you.“
Betika could not believe it. Nevertheless, she clung to her Christian faith.
“Can one do this to a human being ? That’s to say I’m going to become a corpse. I said it’s in the hand of God, The God of Abraham I serve.”
Betika: yesterday bewitched, today healed.
For Betika, being alive is a miracle. One day, tired and desperate, she went to the Basilica “Notre Dame de la Paix” in Yamoussoukro to implore divine help. Once there, the singer revealed that she had put 50,000 FCFA in an envelope with a clear prayer intention: “My health. Mary, you are the mother of humanity. You can touch even evangelical to heal your daughter. Because you are the mother of humanity, the virgin Mary. My name is not Marie-Emmanuelle for nothing.”
Betika had made an act of faith; a gift dictated by her heart. The 50,000 francs was all the money she had left at that time. This was a fee received for a musical performance; a paltry sum compared to what she usually received when she was still at the top of her form and her musical career.
One year later, the artist seems to have overcome this painful episode even if she still talks about it with a voice full of emotions.
