The career of the Egyptian Mohamed Salah takes a new turn. Mohamed Salah scored a record-breaking hat-trick in the space of just six minutes after coming on as a substitute on Wednesday against Glasgow Rangers (7-1), taking his Champions League goal tally to 45.
With this total of 45 goals, the Liverpool winger enters a little more in the history of the competition as he doubles the Ivorian legend Didier Drogba (44 goals) to become the best African scorer in the history of the competition.
While Samuel Eto’o (33 goals), retired like Drogba, completes the podium, no one seems able to worry the Pharaoh in the coming years since his former compatriot Sadio Mané (Bayern Munich) is 19 units behind with a total of 26 goals. Recently retired Ivorian Seydou Doumbia rounds out the top five with 19 goals, just ahead of Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez (18 goals) and Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (17 goals).
