The death of the mother (Mrs Adebanjo-Akindele) of famous Nigerian actress Funke Akindele was announced last Tuesday evening. The sad news came from her elder sister Olubunmi Akindele in a post on Instagram. She breathed her last on Tuesday 07 February 2023 according to a statement announced on behalf of the family.

Music producer JJC Skillz, Funke’s ex-husband, was saddened by the news of the death and expressed his sincere condolences. Despite their separation, he sent her a message of condolence and prayed to God in tribute to the deceased. He also prayed that Mrs Adebanjo-Akindele’s wishes for her daughter would be fulfilled.

The actress-comedian, saddened by this misfortune, announced that despite the pain, she feels very happy with the legacy left to her by her mother and assures that she will continue to make her proud.
