Professor Edmond Codjo Adjovi, vice chancellor in charge of academic affairs at UNSTIM Abomey, has been made a Knight of the International Order of Academic Palms (OIPA/CAMES). He received the award at the closing ceremony of the 45th session of the Inter-African Consultative Committees (ICC) and the ordinary meeting of the General Consultative Committees (GCC) on July 29.

Like many other personalities, Prof Edmond Codjo Adjovi has been inducted into the CAMES international order of academic palms. The award ceremony took place on Saturday July 29, 2023 at the University of Lomé, Togo, in conjunction with the closing of the 45th session of the Inter-African Consultative Committees and the ordinary meeting of the CAMES 2023 General Consultative Committees. They were rewarded for their contribution to the development of CAMES higher education through its programs in their respective countries.

Indeed, this prestigious honorary title is a token of the institution’s recognition of Prof. Edmond Codjo Adjovi’s remarkable contribution to the growth and influence of CAMES in particular, and of higher education and scientific research in Benin, Africa and beyond.

A university lecturer and researcher at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Travaux Publics (National Advanced School of Public Works) and vice chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs at the University of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (Unstim/Abomey), Prof. Edmond Codjo Adjovi is one of today’s leading experts in quality assurance in French-speaking Africa.

The CAMES International Order of Academic Palms (OIPA/CAMES), created in 2002 in Abidjan, was installed in April 2003 in Kigali, Rwanda. OIPA/ CAMES was founded to express the institution’s gratitude to those who have contributed to its influence, on the one hand, and to the progress of African education and training systems, on the other. It also serves as an incentive to engage in building higher education and research. Several personalities, including higher education and research technicians, were awarded, among whom 14 heads of state, a prime minister, 23 ministers in charge of higher education, and the governor of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO).
