A delegation of the Republican Police led by its Director General Yaya Soumaïla has been touring the interior of the country since Sunday, July 3, 2022. The mission is to raise the morale of the troops at the front in the fight against terrorist attacks.
Four days. This is the duration of the tour undertaken last Sunday by the Director General of the Republican Police, Inspector General of Police, Yaya Soumaïla and some of his direct collaborators. According to information gathered by TRIOMPHE MAG, the delegation left Cotonou on Sunday with a convoy of four vehicles for Djougou and spent the night in Natitingou. This tour by the police hierarchy comes a few days after the armed attack on the Dassari police station in the town of Matéri on Sunday, June 27, which left two people dead on each side. The delegation went to the site to assess the needs of these police stations. Other areas will also be visited by the delegation to get a feel for the realities on the ground and be inspired to take drastic measures to effectively fight terrorism in Benin. This action, which reinforces the measures taken by the executive, is a sign that the Head of State wants to deal with the terrorist groups that have been disturbing the peace of the population in northern Benin since December 2021.
The tour of the delegation of the Republican police in the septentrion is still going on and will end tomorrow, Wednesday, July 6, 2022, when Inspector General of Police Yaya Soumaïla and his men will return to Cotonou.
