Malian authorities have announced that they are willing to share their experiences and military equipment with Burkina Faso in the fight against terrorism. The information was made public this Thursday, March 16, after an audience that Captain Ibrahim Traoré granted to the Malian Minister of Defense, Colonel Sadio Camara, at the Kossyam Palace.
The Malian minister exchanged with the Head of State on issues of common interest to both nations, says the Presidency of Faso. “We have reviewed all the issues that concern our two states. The current concern is the security situation. In this regard, we have received instructions from our Heads of State to pool our efforts,” said Colonel Camara, bearer of the message from the President of the Transition, Colonel Assimi Goïta.
The Malian Minister of Defense also explained that the situation that Burkina Faso has been experiencing for the past few months is a situation that Mali has experienced in the past, and “today, Mali is ready to share the little experience, the little means that we have acquired recently” with Burkina Faso.
“We know that the current situation is difficult for our states, when we choose the path of independence, there is a price to pay but we are confident and we know that together we will succeed,” he added.
This very Thursday, Mali received Turkish and Russian-made military equipment as part of the fight against terrorism. These are three drones type Bayraktar TB2 and four fighter aircraft L-39 ALBATROS and several other war materials.
“These new weapons systems composed of several drones type Bayraktar TB2 and fighter aircraft L-39 ALBATROS are the result of the partnership between Mali and the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey,” said Colonel Sadio Camara, while welcoming and thanking the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey, which he describes as “reliable and sincere partners of Mali.
