Torn, cracked, split heels are usually characterised by dryness of the foot skin that ends in a crack. In most cases, this unsightly and sometimes painful crack is due to poor hydration. If you already have cracked heels, you can still treat them. For this reason we suggest some natural remedies for the maintenance of your heels.
Good hydration.
Intense rehydration is the powerful weapon in fighting torn heels. But before you do that, we suggest a foot bath. To prepare your bath, put warm water in a basin and then add one to two spoons of baking soda (this varies depending on the amount of warm water) and soak your feet in the water for at least 20 minutes. Once the time is up, you can move on to moisturising your feet. Repeat this at least once a week and especially in the evening when you go to bed and you won’t look like you’ve done it.
The use of pumice
The pumice stone will allow you to remove dead skin from your heels. But to make this possible and easy for you, we suggest that you start with a foot bath. You can do this already from the previous tip. However, we suggest another way to do it naturally. At this point, instead of using baking soda, you will have to use honey. The amount of honey depends on the amount of lukewarm water you use. After letting your feet rest in the water for about 20 minutes, remove and rub them with the pumice stone. This treatment will make your feet more supple and soft.
Preventing cracks
Adopting certain gestures and habits will help you prevent torn heels. At first glance, good hydration is likely to keep you out of danger. In addition, you should avoid keeping your feet wet after washing them. By following these steps, cracks in the feet can be prevented.
