Beyond her love for the loincloth and the business, Mrs. Maureen Ayité is noted for her generosity. It has been organising charitable activities for years, including the blood donation operation “my blood to save lives” organised in 2020 in Cotonou, Benin, and housing assistance for flood victims in Abidjan in the same year.

    A fundraising for disadvantaged children

The latest is the supply of nurseries in Adjame and Youpougon in Ivory Coast, an action that in one Instagram story has mobilised its followers from various countries.

It all started with a desire to donate wheelchairs and orthopaedic beds to disabled children following a visit to an orphanage that she shared on Instagram.

Her desire to help children inspired her subscribers to participate in this charitable activity, which quickly turned into a fundraising. In the space of 5 days, the kitty collected more than 20,000 euros, not counting the donations in kind and services offered by its subscribers. The in-kind donations from participants were so large and unexpected that Ms Ayité was forced to stop the campaign due to lack of storage space.

Cette cagnotte improvisée permet de mettre en lumière le poids des réseaux sociaux. Il n’est plus à démontrer l’influence de Maureen Ayité qui ne cesse d’impressionner de par sa notoriété et son leadership.
