Scheduled to start tomorrow, Saturday 08 October 2022, the strike movement launched by the air traffic controllers has been suspended for the moment. Indeed, the unified office of the air traffic controllers of the ONDA national union announced that they have given a second chance to dialogue, following their meeting with the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri on Thursday.
There was concern in the hearts of passengers travelling to and from Morocco. Fortunately the doubt has now been removed. Moroccan air traffic controllers will no longer go on strike on Saturday 08 October. For the time being, the Minister of Employment has managed to defuse the threat following a meeting with union representatives on Thursday.
Around the negotiating table, Younes Sekkouri announced the decision of the head of government to postpone the administrative council of the National Airports Office (ONDA), which was scheduled for this Friday, in order to resume the dialogue.

Both parties have agreed to hold a first consultation meeting on Tuesday 11 October. According to the local media, the final suspension of the strike should be decided at the end of the meeting on Tuesday. This is after the government honoured its promise to work to ensure that some of the demands at the heart of the strike call are met by the ONDA management. This includes the terms of the agreement signed in 2019, the implementation of which has been delayed by the pandemic.
