Lance Reddick, known for his impeccable acting in “The Fringe”, “Resident Evil”, “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit”, etc, died on Friday March 17, 2023.
According to the website TMZ, the actor was allegedly found dead in his Hollywood flat on Friday morning. The sad news was confirmed by his publicist Mia Hansen.
“Acclaimed actor Lance Reddick passed away suddenly this morning from natural causes. Lance will be greatly missed. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time,” she told The Hollywood Reporter.
The actor was on a press tour for John Wick: Chapter 4. He was announced as a guest on the Kelly Clarkson Show next week. He had posted photos of himself, beaming with his dogs the day before he died.

The news of his death came as a shock to many. Reactions came from all sides. Several celebrities paid tribute to him on various social networks.
“Shocked!! Speechless!! This talented, kind, intelligent King is gone!! I was blessed to have worked with you and blessed to have known you. Praying for comfort for your family and loved ones! Rest well Lance Reddick…..see you on the other side 💔🕊🙏🏿”, actress Viola Davis who played Nanisca in “The Woman King” posted on her Facebook page.
Wendell Pierce from “The Wire” also made a statement on Twitter about the death of his late friend.
“A man of great strength and grace. As talented a musician as he was an actor. The epitome of class. An sudden unexpected sharp painful grief for our artistic family. An unimaginable suffering for his personal family and loved ones. Godspeed my friend. You made your mark here. RIP.”
Michael Connelly, author of “Bosch” whose books have been adapted into a TV series also tweeted: “I’m thinking about my friend Lance Reddick. More than being a key ingredient in the Bosch show, he was a wonderful person, friend and collaborator. He took a character who was paper-thin in the books and made Irvin Irving.”
Other celebrities such as Stephen King, Questlove, Kurtwood Smith, Jullito McCullum, Isaiah Whitlock Jr, etc, also expressed their sadness and offered condolences to his relatives.
He was married to Stephanie King, had two children and was also a musician.
Lance Reddick was 60.
