On the occasion of his 60th birthday, the former NBA superstar plans to donate $10 million to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, CNN reported on Wednesday.
Based in Arizona and operating since 1980, Make-A-Wish aims to grant the wishes of children between the ages of 2 and 18 who have or have had serious illnesses. The star’s donation to contribute to the happiness of these children is to date the largest sum raised by the foundation since its creation.
A Make-A-Wish supporter since 1989, the star says that witnessing the courage of these children during what is arguably the most difficult phase of their lives has been an endless source of motivation for him. For Michael Jordan, being part of this association is an honour and it is with great pleasure that he contributes to the development of these children. For him there could be no better birthday present than to see these children fulfil their dreams.
