Vano Baby gives his opinion on the sentences for cybercriminality
    Beninese rapper artist Vano Baby

Following the recent arrests by the “Office Central de Répression de la Cybercriminalité (OCRC)”, voices are raised against the heavy sentences.

On his Facebook page during a live broadcast, the singer Vano Baby, asks for favours from the president of the republic for the arrested teenager. Accordind to him, the sentences imposed on the guilties seem to be too harsh. Although he is aware of the extent of this unnamed phenomenon on Beninese territory, the artist says “Please, dear President. I know that if someone breaks the law, he must answer. But please, 5, 10 years is too much. You can reduce it to 2 or even 3 years for them, by setting up a rehabilitation service directly after the individual’s release so that he learns something. So that he washes his hands with bleach for good, and then he can do something healthy. I beg you, President, because for a young person who does a 10-year sentence, his life is totally ruined. […] “, words that can be read in a Facebook post by “La Parakoise” on the Facebook page of our artist.

For the artist, the sentences are too heavy because of the young age of the culprits. According to the artist, a 10-year sentence would not give them a second chance. He suggests then another way of punishment for the concerned people.

Let’s remember that Vano Baby real name’s Aurel Sylvanus Adjivon. His is a beninese rapper. He sings and rap mostly in Fongbé language.
