The Cameroonian influencer Croqueuse de diamant tells the story and the reasons that led her to choose this very strange pseudonym.
Anyone with any literary background might think that by choosing such a pseudonym (Croqueuse de diamant meaning Gold digger), the influencer is claiming the status of a money-hungry femme fatale.
However, this assumption seems to be very far from the truth.
According to her own words, Manuella Nimpa is called Croqueuse de diamant for very different reasons. In fact, she says she didn’t choose it. On the contrary, it is the pseudonym that would have chosen her. She confided that one morning when she woke up, this nickname was revealed to her as a certainty, a plan from God for her life.
«I didn’t choose “Croqueuse de diamant.” I can say that this is God’s work. Because I was sleeping, I woke up and said, “Call me Croqueuse de diamant from now on.”

She claims that she had this revelation very recently, last February.
On the other hand, she says she is aware that she does not look like a gold digger at all. She aims at making people realize that you can have such a pseudonym without looking like one. Thus, Croqueuse de diamant might not be there to sell dreams to young people but rather to inspire them and help them achieve theirs.
