The Beninese authorities launched this Wednesday, March 15, the preparations for the Hajj 2023 in Saudi Arabia. Thus each faithful Muslim who wants to participate in this pilgrimage to Mecca, will have to pay an amount of 3.500.000fcfa.

According to Aurelien Agbénonci, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and Chairman of the Orientation and Supervision Committee of Hajj in Benin, who presided over the official launch, it is an all-inclusive amount (TTC) that takes into account the costs of visa, air transport, intercity transport, accommodation, catering, insurance but also the various taxes in force in Saudi Arabia

However, it should be noted that the participation fee for Hajj 2023 has seen a small increase of 100,000 FCFA compared to last year’s price (3,400,000 FCFA). And this, because of “certain constraints and in particular the concern to further improve the conditions of participation of the Beninese Muslim faithful in the pilgrimage to Mecca,” said Minister Agbénonci.

The organizers invite then, the candidates to the achievement of the fifth pillar of Islam this year, to get close to the 27 companies approved by the government whose list is available on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Registration will close on May 18. It should be noted that a total of 4600 places are granted to Beninese pilgrims this year by Saudi Arabia. The trip is scheduled from June 26 to July 1, 2023.

Here is the program for the issuance of ordinary biometric passports communicated by the Minister of the Interior and Public Security.
