The Brigadier General Fructueux Gbaguidi, Chief of General Staff of the Beninese Armed Forces was received on Tuesday 31 January in Morocco by Belkhir El Farouk, Lieutenant General, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the Southern Zone. The bilateral cooperation between the Royal and Beninese Armed Forces was on the agenda.
The discussions between the two officials took place in the presence of the relevant Chiefs of Staff of the FAR. According to a statement from this institution, they focused on bilateral cooperation between the Royal Armed Forces and the Beninese Armed Forces, which the two leaders undertook to expand.
On the occasion, the General Inspector of the FAR and the Chief of Staff of the FAB welcomed the friendship, solidarity and mutual trust between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Benin.
They also reiterated their willingness to continue working to promote this cooperation dating back to the 1980s.
As a reminder, military cooperation between the two armies is mainly focused on the training of Beninese military personnel in the schools and training centres of the FAR, both for initial and continuous training and for higher military education. For this reason, the two Army chiefs expressed their satisfaction with the expansion of military cooperation to other areas, and reiterated their willingness to continue working to further promote this bilateral cooperation.
