Lieutenant-Colonel Paul-Henri Sandaogo Damiba, President of the Transition in Burkina Faso, addressed the Burkinabe about the gunshots heard at dawn this morning. It was through a statement read on the national television RTB, this Friday around 09h.
The lieutenant especially invited the populations “to observe the greatest prudence and to remain calm in front of certain information which circulate in particular on the social networks”.
According to the text, these shots augur “a movement of mood of some elements of the National Armed Forces.
“Talks are underway to restore calm and serenity,” the statement said, adding that “the enemy who is attacking our country only wants to create division among Burkinabes in order to carry out his destabilizing action.
“Let us remain united for the triumph of peace and security,” the statement concluded.
