Morocco, now 4th at the African and Arab level
This achievement places Morocco in fourth place in terms of the number of universities ranked in Africa and the Arab world, says a statement from the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation. The universities cited as the best in Morocco are Ibn Tofail, Cadi Ayyad, Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah, in the 1001-1200 segment, and Abdelmalek Essaadi, Hassan II, Mohammed V and Chouaib Doukkali universities, in the 1201-1500 segment.
International rankings, the barometer of educational quality
International university rankings are among the most important indicators of the quality of higher education and the development of scientific research in Morocco, explains the ministry. This makes it possible to meet the challenge of academic and scientific excellence advocated by the Acceleration Plan for the Transformation of the Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation Ecosystem (PACTE ESRI 2030).
The Times Higher Education (THE) ranking is considered one of the best internationally. Universities are evaluated each year on 13 key indicators divided into 5 different categories. These are teaching, research, knowledge transfer, research influence, international outreach and innovation.
