The ceremony of the official installation of the members of the National Council of Employers of Benin (CNP-Benin) took place this Tuesday 21 June 2022 at the Palais des Congrès in Cotonou. This was in the presence of members of the Beninese government and several African and European employers.

A new story is being written in the annals of the National Council of Employers of Benin from this Tuesday 21 June. Indeed, the members of the 5th mandate of the Patronat have officially started a new five-year term in front of their peers from the sub-region and abroad. This mandate is part of the dynamics of the renaissance, with the main objective of improving the visibility and contribution of the private sector to the economic and social development of Benin.

According to Eustache Kotingan, the newly invested president of Cnp/Benin, three main priorities form the basis of this management team. Firstly, the organisation of the private sector around the sustainable development of Benin. Secondly, imagine and implement the conversion of economic and social dialogue. Thirdly, to strengthen the role of the private sector in the economic and social development of Benin. To this end, the Executive Board of the Employers’ Association intends to give youth the attention and space it deserves in the business world.

In achieving these noble objectives, the Beninese executive will not stand aside. He promised unconditional support to the new Cnp team. “Know that we are at your side and your success is ours,” said Shadiya Alimatou Assouma, Minister of Industry and Trade. “We will continue to put in place the frameworks and conditions necessary for you to be competitive and create more wealth,” she added.

The National Council of Employers of Benin

When it was created, the CNP was known as the National Organisation of Employers of Benin (ONEB). It was created to respond to the government’s call for a valid and representative interlocutor to defend the interests and promote the private sector. Born from the union of 19 professional associations, the vision of the National Council of Employers is to make the Beninese employers’ association an instrument of dialogue, mobilisation of economic operators and defence of their interests in order to promote a prosperous and competitive national economy.
