While the military like him, under similar circumstances, suffer the reprisals of these same organizations. This decision was made following a health problem. The current member Brighton has a high risk of heart disease that is hereditary in nature.

Sad news for Enock Mwepu and for Zambia. The midfielder has just announced the end of his career. At only 24 years old, he has a high risk of heart disease due to hereditary reasons.

“I’m really sorry about Enock. Before I arrived, I looked at the whole team, and he was a player I was so excited and eager to work with. We will do everything we can to help him,” said with sadness his coach at Brighton, Roberto De Zerbi.

It all started when he arrived in the country for a match with the national team

On September 23, Zambia lost 0-0 to Mali. Having traveled with his national team, Enock Mwepu did not participate in the game.

According to a post on social media, Wesley Ngongo, the Zambian team doctor, explained that “Enock Mwepu fell ill as soon as he arrived in the country. When we arrived here, we assessed and felt that he needed to go to hospital. We took him to the hospital and because of the seriousness of his condition, he was admitted for further tests and evaluation..

Faced with the situation, the Chipolopolos had decided to leave him at the disposal of his club. “He has been discharged from the hospital [dimanche] – but he needs further treatment and assessment as soon as possible, so he has been allowed to return to the UK,” the doctor continued.

As a reminder, Mwepu Enock has scored 24 caps and 6 goals for Zambia.
